Jack's been sleeping on the chaise for an hour and a half now. He didn't even wake up when Daisy was barking when Brooke got here. 

He's big into putting things to bed lately. He takes his little Elmo blanket that my mom made for him and will cover us up, or his Elmo, or his sippy or whatever and say "g'night....seep type!". He was following Jenky around this morning trying to cover him up and saying "g'night....seep type!". 

Yesterday he slammed Jenky's tail in the porch door and Jenky yelped really loud and then took off with his tail all puffed out. I followed him and picked him up and was petting him. He lost a huge chunk of fur from his tail. I told Jack that he hurt Jenky. Then for like the next hour he was following Jenks around saying "I sorry Jenky!". It was really cute. 

We watched The Hills last night. What the hell is Lo's problem? She's being such a snot to Audrina!  Why is Stephanie such a pushover? I'd have kicked Spencer out a long time ago. I can't believe he's going to go to Vegas and crash Heidi's business meeting. What a tool.

We watched Beauty and the Geek too. I'm so glad Joe's gone. Seriously...why did he talk with his eyes closed so much??? Hey Napoleon Dynamite....open yer eyes! Such a weirdo. 

Hell's Kitchen was interesting. Matt is such a doofus. He needs to go. Rosann too. 

Lizzie and Charlotte aren't coming now. They're not feeling well so their mom is going to take them to the doc.

I thought of a couple more. He's been calling some things "cute!", saying "that's funny" when he's being silly, saying "good boy!" when he puts his toys away or dishes in the sink or socks in the drawer. He loves to put his socks away. We have a little drawer thingy in the living room with a stash of his clothes in it cuz we're always changing him and getting him dressed down here. He knows his socks go in the top drawer so whenever I'm folding clothes he takes his socks and puts them away. If he's wearing socks, he takes them off and puts them away and then says "good boy!" and claps for himself :P

This kid dances EVERY TIME HE HEARS MUSIC. Any music. It's always the same dance and he makes this super excited face. It's so funny. I got a short video of it this morning. It's funny cuz Jenks comes over by him and he says "Jenky GO!!!" which is what he says now if you're invading his space.

Jared put Jack to bed again last night. He actually fell asleep doing it. I could hear him snoring all the way downstairs!

Now the kids are napping so I'm going to try to too.

I'm going to start watching 2 more kids next month. They're daughters of a friend of my Mom's. I think their ages are 4 and 7. It's just going to be for a couple of hours in the afternoon 4 days a week. 

Jack and Rosemary have been having fun today. Unfortunately Jack only napped for about 40 minutes again. What gives? Rosemary is still napping. Brooke should be here in about an hour.

We're doing some heavy duty cleaning today. Gotta get this place cleaned up before next week when Amy & Erik come. We're having their baby shower here next Sunday. So far we've cleaned the windows, curtains, shower curtain, and fans. Jared washed Jack's bedding too and deep cleaned his humidifier. Jack's napping now but when he wakes up it's super vacuuming time! Exciting stuff :P

We heard on some news channel the other day that they would have regular updates as to where the best spots are to see the leaves change. Anyone else hear that and know what news channel it was?? I can't find anything. I'd like to go see some fall colors this weekend but I want to know where to go.

Work was slow as usual this afternoon. Just Jack for about an hour. I picked up 5 extra shifts next month! So I'll be working 3 afternoons a week instead of 2 O_o

I felt the tippy tip of a molar in Jack's yap this evening! Finally...sheesh.

What a night. Jack had been doing so good this week. Going to bed at 7, waking up about an hour later, nursing briefly and then back to sleep til morning. Well, yesterday morning came at 6:30 am but that was ok. Last night was no peach. We have figured out he needs to start having his dinner a little earlier because he fills up on so much milk when he lays down for bed that it's a bad combination. We were layin on the twin bed that's pushed up against his crib last night. He had nursed for quite a while and was just tossing and turning. I laid with him for 45 minutes and all of sudden.......puke all over me and the bedding. It soaked through to the mattress too. Oy. He's used to sleeping on all this fluffy bedding on the twin. Not on his hard crib mattress. So all the bedding is in the wash and I finally got him to sleep on the crib mattress. He woke up about an hour later. It's now about 9:30 and he wakes up again. So I figure he's not going to sleep well on the crib mattress when he's used to sleeping on a much cushier surface. I fold up a comforter and lay him on that. He again nurses for a bit and is finally out at 10. Then 4 am rolls around. He's wide awake. I end up bringing him in our bed. He wiggles and squirms and babbles until almost 6! Argh. Finally he falls asleep. But I get to wake up to kicks, punches, scratches, and more babble at 7:30. FINE!! I'm up, ya happy? He better let me get a nap in today.

Jack tried pancakes this morning. He loved em! He was getting mad that I wasn't feeding him fast enough. Little stinker. He's gotten so used to me sharing whatever I'm eating with him. He just looks over at me now whenever I'm eating as if to say "where's my bites?". We shared and apple and a banana yesterday. He tried a bunch of my stir fry the other night. He had some of my squash at lunch yesterday and a piece of celery. Next up: cheeseburgers. Just kidding.

Daisy has had a ham bone since last easter. She loves it. She chews on it all the time. Yesteray my mom brought her 2 more from this easter! She was pretty excited. I don't think they were the same kind of bones. She got to have one yesterday and we were saving the other for later. Well she ate the one she got yesterday. There were no traces of it. Until this morning. When I got to clean up poop and 2 puke piles in the living room. It was the icing on the cake as far as mornings go.

Jack's favorite shows for a while were The Wonder Pets and The Backyardigans. He likes Teletubbies too but usually that show puts him to sleep. He HATES it when they cut to the video of "real people" on Teletubbies so we have to fast forward through that part. Twice. Why do they have to play the video twice? It's so stupid. Anywho, his new favorite show is Jack's Big Music Show. He LOVES it. He squeals with delight when it comes on. We have several episodes Tivo'd but his all time favorite episode is the one with Phil the Coo Coo Bird. He squeals so much when Philsy Boy is on the screen. It's so funny. I even went to noggin.com to see if they have a store or something so I could maybe get hime a Phil the Coo Coo Bird doll but they didn't.

I got ants in my pants for spring. My mom and I took Jack and Daisy for a walk yesterday. It was really nice out. A wee bit treacherous yet for strollers but we made it work. We'll prolly go for another walk today too. I only got a half hour of work in yesterday. I almost got into a fist fight with my goggles at water aerobics. They've been pissing me off for days now. All of sudden they won't cooperate. They keep letting water in and fogging up no matter how much I tighten them and how many times I spit in them. Argh.

We've never had a routine with Jack. Until now. I was going back and forth with feeding him baby food. Some weeks he'd have it kind of regularly. Then the next week he wouldn't have much at all. So this week I decided to implement a schedule because A.) I'm wanting to gently nudge him in the direction of nursing a wee bit (that's twice now with the wee's) less often (I don't plan to kick him off the boob by any means - but some of his nursing is unnecessary IMO - it's just pacifying) B.) He's ready for it (weaning a bit, and adhereing to a schedule - and No, I won't be a schedule nazi) C. It will help (already has) to regulate his sleep schedule and his bowels (you have no idea how nice it is to deal with a wee (that's 3) bit more solid poops. D.) I think it will help with lessening his clingyness/attachment to me (could but just a shot in the dark with this one). And just so ya know - this routine thing has been weighing on my mind for weeks now. It has nothing to do with us TTC.

So this is Jack's new schedule:

7:30 Boob
11 or 12 Fuit (baby food duh)
1 or 2 Boob
5 veggies/dinners (baby food duh)
7 Boob
9:30 Boob to bed

So far it has been working smashingly. And naps have been occuring right after fruit and right after dinner + a bath. Naps get a little messed up on swimming days so like I said - not a schedule nazi because our days aren't always the exact same. He always naps in the car and so that means a wee (4) little nap on the way to swimming at 8:30 and a wee (5) little nap on the way back at 10:30. So 3 days a week his naps are sporadic. But so far they haven't messed up his eating schedule at all so that's good. And this is the best part: his naps have gone like this

And he goes to sleep!!!!!!!! It's a miracle!!!!! If that's not reason enough to adhere to a schedule I don't know what is.

In other news:

Jack had his first Girl Scout Cookie yesterday. Don't judge me! He didn't even really eat it. And it was a Trefoil and c'mon, those are practically baby cookies as is and it's not like I plan on giving him cookies regularly. He just nubbed it and sloshed it around in his yap til it turned into cookie mush and then he drooled it out. It was funny. It went from 0 to messy real quick though. His shirt needed to be removed. He also nubbed on a pickle for a bit but now that he has 2 more chompers poking through on top he gets to the biting wee (6) little pieces off stage too quickly. So I gave him a baby carrot to nub. That didn't work so well. They're too short. He holds it in his hand and then not enough sticks out to put in his mouth.

Jack has several rubber duckies. He usually gets 1-2 to play with during bath time. His tub's too small to load all of them in there. They have holes in their mouths so you call fill them with water and squirt them at people, animals, walls, what have you. So I had never done this before but on Monday I filled them up and was squirting his belly and he would squint and giggle. We did this multiple times and then Jenks strolled into the bathroom to see what all the fun was about. So I squirted him and then he left. Weird huh? So this is now a regular bath time activity. Yesterday during his bath I filled up the ducky and as soon as I raised it out of the water he squinted and smiled in anticipation. It was so funny. He knew I was about to squirt his belly.

Jack is 8 months old today! Holy crapflappers. It took 8 months to figure out that his feet are temperature sensitive. Just this week I've come to the realization that he needs to sleep in footless jambos with no blanket on. Blanketless & footless = only 1 wake-up time. Halle freakin lujah. I noticed a few weeks back that if he was waking up alot and had footie jammies on that slipping his feet out of his jammies helped immensely. Thanks for the tipwholuvsya . And just the other day I tried letting him sleep with no blanket on and that was the night he only woke up once. Nice work Sherlock.
I feel like @$$. I missed swimming today. Argh. And I still need one more for this month so that means I have to still go to the Y at some point today and just swipe my card. Argh. The only reason I woke up is because Jenks was in full-on zoot mode. Zootin up and down the hallway hollering. Jack's still sleeping. I hope he's not getting the funk too.
We watched The Black Donnelly's (I don't know if I spelled that right and I really don't care) last night and It was pretty good. It's like the more serious version of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. The Amazing Race is off to a smashing good start (no spoilage this week). I can't stand that Mirna and Shmirna ( or whatever, I don't care what their real names are). They had full-on ( I like that phrase today, and putting things in parenthesis) meltdowns this week. It was hysterical. That couple with the guy that can't ever breath or walk, yea, they picked a good show to go on. Maybe next time go with "the sit at home and rest show". Idiots.
Anyone else watch "I Love New York"? Why can't Boston keep his fingers out of his nose? Why'd it take her so long to send him home? That show's a train wreck and I can't look away.
Anyone else think it's weird that Fergie has to spell in each of her songs?

The Fuzzoli's sure like Jack. And he likes them too. Anytime one of them crosses his path he reaches out for them and smiles really big. Well, Rosie doesn't usually come too close but Daisy (aka monkey, aka monkey bone, aka munks, aka daizers, aka daisy pupper dogs, aka puppers, aka corn nuts, aka daizer daizer daizer, aka stinky feets) and Gossimer (aka gossimer jenkins, aka gossimo jenko, aka gossimo, aka mr. mo, aka jenks, aka jenky) are usually all up in his business. Yea, for some reason we gave our cats last names. Rosarita Sanderson and Gossimer Jenkins. Anywho, they get pretty uptight whenever Jack is crying. They pace around and act like "Hey, get that kid to stop crying!". When Jack was small enough that we still bathed him in the kitchen sink, the first few times he would cry (mostly cuz we hadn't figured out yet that we should fill the sink with water, not just hose him off. We didn't know. We were imitating what they did in the hospital.) and Gossimer would get so upset that we didn't calm him fast enough. He once bit me on the arm during Jack's bath! He was lookin out for his future best bud. The first few weeks after we got home from the hospital were pretty funny. Every time Daisy would come in from being outside she would run right to where ever Jack was and make sure he was alright/still there. It was really cute. I think a few times she almost wagged her tail right off.
